Explore the tours

Bavaria to the Black Forest, one bite at a time.

These tours are built around the food, beer, and wine we've discovered through our own personal travels throughout Germany. They are journeys built around what make every town, village, and cultural region special, focusing on small producers and expert artisans. Every itinerary is designed to showcase the best the region has to offer.

Itineraries created by award winning chefs and cookbook authors.

Jeremy Nolen and Jessica Vogel have built their careers around German food — years behind the line in professional kitchens, learning the regional dishes properly and cooking them for a living. What kept the food authentic was the travel: trip after trip across Germany, from alpine villages to Pfalz cellars, tasting and taking notes and recreating those dishes in their own kitchens in the United States.

That work became a book — New German Cooking: Recipes for Classics Revisited — and the tours grew from the exact same habit of chasing down how a place really eats and bringing guests along for it.

Now based in Bavaria, Jess and Jeremy plan each itinerary themselves, through recommendations from friends, their own experiences traveling throughout and now living in Germany, and collaborating closely with local hosts. Every itinerary is built around the best food and drink in a region, with hosts who know how to make a meal into a memory. The tours are small, intimate, and designed to let you taste a region as it really eats.

We keep every group small on purpose — no more than 18 guests at a table — because the best moments happen when there's room for everyone.

So, where should you start?

Maybe it's a liter and a brass band in an Oktoberfest tent, or tasting Riesling in the Rhine River Valley. Maybe it's a hike through the beautiful Black Forest or glühwein under the lights of a Christmas market. Whatever pulls at you, there's a table with your name on it. Private groups of six or more can also have a tour built from scratch. We work with you to design a trip that fits your schedule, budget, and appetite.

“Some of the best meals I've had in Germany were from market stalls, butcher shops, or ordered in a kitchen and eaten while standing.”

The founders

Jeremy and Jessica launched Savor Germany Tours to share the food, people, and stories they love. After years of traveling and eating throughout Germany, they decided to create tours that would let others experience the same joy they found in the country's culinary and cultural traditions.

Their philosophy is simple: small groups, authentic experiences, and a focus on the people behind the food. Every itinerary is designed to let guests taste a region as it really eats, with hosts who know how to make a meal into a memory. They take great joy in showing others the hidden gems of Germany, from alpine villages to Pfalz cellars, and sharing the stories of the people who make it all possible.

Jeremy and Jessica plan each itinerary themselves, through recommendations from friends, their own experiences traveling throughout and now living in Germany, and collaborating closely with local hosts. They now call Bavaria home and continue to explore the diverse culinary landscape of Germany from the Alps to the Rhine.
